Roslyn B. Evans, OTR/L, CHT

Roslyn B. Evans, OTR/L, CHT is the owner and director of Indian River Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation in Vero Beach, Florida, a private practice that she started in 1980. She has developed innovative ideas and published clinical studies on early motion for both extensor and flexor tendon injuries, conservative management of the trigger finger, and postoperative Dupuytren’s fasiectomy, and has published chapters on wound healing, carpal tunnel, flexor and extensor tendon injuries and Dupuytren’s contracture. Her clinical studies have been awarded the R.L. Petzolt Prize by the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT) three times; the “Best Scientific Paper”, the Nathalie Barr Lectureship, and the Lifetime Fellowship Award by ASHT. She was the first recipient for the American Foundation Research Award of the American Hand Therapy Foundation. She has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Hand Therapy since 1990, the editorial board of the Yearbook of Hand Surgery from 1990-2001, has been a reviewing editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery since 2009. She has edited two special issues for the Journal of Hand Therapy (1989; 2005); both on tendon and nerve.

She has published and invited editorial review by the International Federation for Societies for Surgery of the Hand Committee on Flexor Tendons on zones other than zone II (Elliot D. Barieri CH, Evans RB, Mass D, Tang JB. IFSSH Flexor Tendon Committee Report 2007. J Hand Surg Eur Vol, 2007 Jun;32(3):346-56. Evans, RB. Flexor Tendon Rehabilitation Update Other Than Zone II; and has recently published an invited review article of the management of tendon injuries for the 2012 Special Edition on Basic Science for the JHT. She has been an Honored Senior Professor twice for the Philadelphia meeting (Surgery and Rehabilitation of the Hand) March 2000, and again in March 2004. She has been the invited Senior Visiting Professor for New Zealand and Australian Hand Therapy Associations, August 2003, Queenstown, NZ; and the Invited Senior Visiting Professor (Pulfertaft Lecturer) for the British Society of Hand Therapists May 14, 15, 2010 Darby England.
