HONORS AND AWARDS:

Honored Visiting Professor British Society of Hand Therapists May 14, 15, 2010 Darby England/ Pulfertaft Lecturer. 6 LECTURES

R.L. PETZOLDT PRIZE by the American Society of Hand Therapists for the most outstanding and innovative contribution to hand therapy in 1986 for the research study entitled, "A Study of the Dynamic Anatomy of Extensor Tendons and Implications for Treatment", Roslyn B. Evans, OTR/L, William E. Burkhalter, M.D.

Awarded the R.L. PETZOLDT PRIZE by the American Society of Hand Therapists for the most outstanding and innovative contribution to hand rehabilitation in 1987 for research entitled, "Conservative Management of the Trigger Finger ‑ A New Approach", Roslyn B. Evans, OTR/L, James Hunter, M.D., William E. Burkhalter, M.D.

Awarded the R.L. PETZOLT PRIZE by the American Society of Hand Therapists for the most outstanding and innovative contribution to hand therapy in 1989 by the American Society of Hand Therapists for the research study entitled, "A Study of the Zone I Flexor Tendon Injury and Implications for Treatment".

Florida Occupational Therapy Association: "Award of Excellence", 1990.

Kansas City, October 1993.Awarded Best Scientific Paper for paper entitled The Application of force to the Healing Tendon, au Roslyn B. Evans, OTR/L. CHT and David Thompson PhD by the American Society of Hand Therapists at their annual scientific meeting.

Awarded Certificate of Appreciation by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission, Inc. in recognition for outstanding contributions to the development, implementation, and future of Hand Therapy Certification. September 14, 1995, San Francisco, CA.

Awarded the Nathalie Barr Lectureship for 1996 (San Francisco, (9/95).  Lecture entitled The Source of our Strength delivered in Atlanta 9/28/96.  This lectureship is awarded yearly by the American Society of Hand Therapists to a member of ASHT who has made significant original contributions to hand rehabilitation by the development or refinement of professional theory and/or technique; contributions to hand therapy development as a profession and to ASHT, and for outstanding research.

Honored Senior Professor:  Surgery and Rehabilitation of the Hand 2000, with James Urbaniak, MD, Duke; Lawrence H. Schneider, Thomas Jefferson University, and Evelyn J. Mackin, PT Hand Rehabilitation foundation, Philadelphia.  Philadelphia March 4-7, 2000.

Best Therapist Paper:  A Clinical Study of the Effect of Mechanical Stress on Flare Rate and Scar following Fasciectomy for Dupuytren's’Contracture.  Florida Hand Society Annual Meeting, Orlando May 5, 2000.

Lifetime Fellowship Award: awarded by the American Society of Hand Therapists; 2002 member recipient.  Awarded for “career long contributions to ASHT, exemplary leadership, achievements in the field of hand therapy which have advanced the field of hand therapy through research, teaching, and improvements in clinical practice”.

American Hand Therapy Foundation Research Award (first recipient).  Recognition for lifetime research contributions to the field of hand and upper extremity rehabilitation.  Awarded in 2002 by AHTF with lectureship at the American Society of Hand Therapists annual scientific meeting/awards ceremony October 11, 2003; Los Angeles California.

Visiting Professorship 2003:  New Zealand and Australian Hand Therapy Associations, August 2003, Queenstown, NZ.
