Indian River Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation was founded in September of 1980 as a private practice for the rehabilitation of upper extremity problems (shoulder, elbow and hand) by owner and director Roslyn B. Evans, OTR/L, CHT.
The practice provides support to orthopedic and plastic surgeons, rheumatologists, neurologists, and primary care physicians in Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, Brevard, and Okeechobee counties as well as for hand and upper extremity surgeons from the University of Florida, University of Miami, Mayo Clinic of Jacksonville, Cleveland Clinic of Ft. Lauderdale/ Naples, and orthopaedic specialists in the Orlando area.
ROSLYN EVANS HAS A WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF ORTHOPAEDIC AND HAND SURGERY AT MAYO CLINIC ROCHESTER, THE HOSPITAL FOR SPECIAL SURGERY IN NEW YORK, THE PHILADELPHIA HAND CENTER, DUKE UNIVERSITY, THE CLEVELAND CLINIC, THE INDIANA HAND CENTER, AND IN FACT MOST SPECIALTY HOSPITALS FOR UPPER EXTREMITY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY. MRS. EVANS HAS PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE COUNTRIES MOST RESPECTED HAND SURGEONS FROM YEARS OF SHARING FACULTY POSITIONS ON NATIONAL LEVEL FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION SEMINARS AND THROUGH PUBLICATION. THE CLINIC FREQUENTLY PROVIDES THE REHABILITATION FOR PATIENTS OPERATED AT THESE VARIOUS CENTERS AROUND THE COUNTRY.

Therapists with both
disciplines represented. The facility has only one site to maintain quality of care and direct supervision for all patients by the director, Mrs. Evans. The facility is known on a national and international level for innovative clinical research on Dupuytren’s disease, flexor and extensor tendon management, treatment of trigger fingers and carpal tunnel, and wound healing.
